Your donations have helped grow this beautiful bird from a tiny chick into a fully mature adult.

From the very beginning, she required many, many feeds of specialised and expensive food, and numerous vet visits due to an issue with the right foot that was unable to straighten, causing the chick to turn in circles to the right. Despite these challenges, she grew quickly and maintained good, healthy weight gain.

The journey was remarkable — from incubator, to carry cage, to outdoor soft crate, then into a small aviary, and finally on to the rehabilitation facility. At first, no one was certain what type of goshawk it was. But as the feathers developed, it became clear that this little survivor was a Brown Goshawk.

It is incredibly rewarding to see a tiny chick, found on the ground by a caring member of the public and taken to a vet who then contacted Sydney Wildlife Rescue to take and raise, grow into a strong, self-sufficient bird ready for release.
