Quarterly Report – March to June 2026

Project #70678 | TAJPI Global Volunteer Sponsorship Initiative

This quarter, The A'ray Justice and Peace Initiative (TAJPI) focused on building a strong foundation for its Global Volunteer Sponsorship Initiative, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent committed individuals from serving vulnerable communities in Tanzania. Many aspiring volunteers cannot afford the approximately US$25 per day required for accommodation, meals, orientation, and in-country support. Through this initiative, TAJPI aims to make volunteer opportunities accessible while strengthening education, environmental conservation, and community development.

A major achievement this quarter was securing safe accommodation capable of hosting up to six volunteers at a time, providing a stable and supervised environment for future participants. TAJPI also finalized volunteer placements at St. Francis Kwangulelo Primary School and SHUMAKWA Community School, where volunteers will support literacy, classroom learning, and life-skills education for marginalized young women.

To ensure accountability, TAJPI established a comprehensive monitoring and reporting system that includes volunteer progress reports, financial accountability, impact stories, and regular donor updates. The program requires US$750 to sponsor one volunteer for one month, with an annual goal of supporting 24 volunteers through a total budget of US$18,000.

Although fundraising activities were limited during this reporting period, TAJPI was encouraged to receive its first GlobalGiving donation, marking an important milestone toward building a sustainable community of supporters.

Looking ahead, TAJPI will launch digital fundraising campaigns, engage universities and corporate partners, and strengthen its online presence. Every sponsorship empowers volunteers to serve, expands educational opportunities, supports environmental action, and creates lasting, community-driven impact across northern Tanzania.

Together, we convert modest daily contributions into structured development outcomes.

With appreciation,

The TAJPI Team
