Employees and project scholars from the MSN Foundation joined the Mangrove restoration activities of the Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA) at Talim Bay, Lian, Batangas last April 30, 2015. The foundation is the Corporate Social Responsibility unit of Cherry Mobile Telecommunications Company, a popular cellular brand in the Philippines. The group was able to plant 500 saplings of the Avicennia spp. a frontier mangrove species. The foundation personnel and students also pledged a long term commitment to regularly monitor their planted mangroves.
The group was also treated to a wonderful experience of appreciating the coral reefs and seagrass ecosystems currently being protected by the local residents led by the Kingfisher Association. Using snorkelling equipment, the MSN Foundation personnel were introduced to the underwater beauty and were informed on its biological value and services.
The following personnel made this activity possible: Mr. Dwight Lobhoy (Project Community Organizer), Ms. July Nery (Development Specialist-Health), Mr. Ansel Astilla (Local Community Organizer) and Mr. Ariel Casihan (President-Kingfisher Association).
