Dear Donors,
We would like to inform you that our Literacy Master Map Program 2017-2018 successfully finished, and our students have a summer break. Many thanks to all our Donors, Supporters, Volunteers, Teachers, Families, and Administrators who have made this project possible. We hope to continue to get your supports for reaching our educational goals.
Penndo's Families appreciate your generosity to help their children to increase reading skills. We would like to share with you that we had an interesting experience to allow our students to draw as teacher read a book. All students were especially attentive and creative in this modality. Reading specialist Mrs. Claire reported: " It is really interesting to see what students choose to draw. The boys tend to draw robots, military, cars, or sports items. The girls on the other hand tend to draw flowers, princess, dolls, or realistic situations." Now we are sure that drawing is not a substitute for reading, but can take the pressure off those children who read poorly but use aural and verbal stimulation to better code and decode words. We encourage our bilingual readers to participate in reading and art activities during our program.
Again and again our deepest thanks go to All Donors and Helpers who understands how important to help little boys and girls to be good readers.
Sincerely,
Tetyana Varenychenko, M.Ed.
