Teach 36 children with limited English to read

And just like that our education year comes to an end. It seems like only yesterday we started working together with the kids and building bonds and the foundation for tomorrow’s leaders. We would like to first thank our sponsors for the help and for supporting our Literacy Master Map Program. Also, we would like to thank all the parents for the support and help with getting the kids ready and here for every class. The kids worked hard and really enjoyed listening to stories, participating in the activities, and making projects. Ivan always asked interesting questions about the book. Kristina and Alex were creative and showed interest in writing. Kiril worked very hard and improved his writing skills and handwriting. Milana enjoyed learning new information about the text. All the kids showed significant interest in many subjects that we covered. We engaged the students in project-based learning by first reading about different holidays, learning about their meanings, and finally creating a project to commemorate the significance of each holiday. Just recently, the kids enjoyed the Easter Egg hunt during Easter week.

Judging my students’ engagement, parental involvement, and the improvements that the kids made we deem the program a huge success. We thank the sponsors again for giving us the opportunity to host our Literacy program and hope that the program will continue next year.
