Project Report | Mar 6, 2015
Good readers in our classroom.

By Tetyana V. Varenychenko, M.Ed | Project Leader

Reading is everywhere
Reading is everywhere

Today's research has discovered that the more time spent on reading instruction, the better the reading achievement normally will be. Mrs. Green, ESL specialist, shares that the goal of the new semester is to enhance the students' academic progress in all of the English language arts from reading comprehension and public speaking to writing themes which show an understanding of English mechanics, spelling, sentence composition and theme building.

Two weeks ago we got a valuable feedback from our parents whose children have participated in Literacy Master Map Program that their children increased the reading skills and got the best results in their schools' programs. This sharing shows us that our program is very effective, and students can reach their educational goals and can be the best readers. Our classes are composed of many exercises using the text including spelling, grammar, reading comprehension, and role playing.

We know that effective comprehension strategy instruction can be accomplished through cooperative learning as well as participation in a small group reading activity. Our students have a privilege to participate in the small group activities learning how to share their different unique viewpoints in a respectful collegial way.

The sense of accomplishment is uplifting and garners for the students and their families the vision of successful academic process. Encouraging is the main key of our program.

I conclusion, we would like to say that our students have demonstrated their great reading skills, and we can proudly say Our Students Are The Best Readers!
