Teaching 6 children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

We appreciate your financial support helping us to encourage children to reach their educational goals. Our children like to use the visual helpers such as classroom educational posters, social-emotional cards, visual schedule and family albums. All visual helpers support them to learn effectively.

We created a Feeling Board, and our little learners know about own feelings. For example, Alicia can not say "I am happy" yet, however she can pointing to the picture with a happy face. Using real-life photos, and pictures that can help to make easier with remembering expectations, routines or directions, or sequences of steps. Daniel likes to use the classroom visual schedule, and he is much better with remembering what came next. Using the First/Then Board (first hand washing, then snack) helps Daniel with transitioning smoothly between activities or routines. Our children love real pictures/photos, and they enjoy their Family Albums. Every smile counts when Alex looks at mom's face and takes his album. Alex has difficulty communicating verbally. Using visual helpers, Alex points to a picture of what he wants to do next at classroom. 

We continue to think about creating and buying the new visual helpers that very important for child's progress in all areas of development: communication, physical development, cognitive development, and increasing adaptive skills and social-emotional skills.
