Dear donors,
We appeal to your generosity to support the “Telehealth for Sex Workers: Anonymous Doctor Chats” project. No donations have been received yet, and your help is essential to launch this initiative and provide safe, private healthcare access to sex workers.
Many sex workers avoid hospitals and clinics due to fear of judgment, harassment, or exposure. As a result, they often go without treatment for infections, miss advice on family planning, and struggle with mental health challenges. Lack of privacy and trust in healthcare systems leaves them vulnerable and isolated.
This project will create an anonymous online chat platform where sex workers can speak with trained doctors in their local language using simple phones. No personal details will be required, allowing them to ask questions about STIs, pregnancy care, mental health, and general medical concerns without fear. The platform provides a discreet, safe, and easy way for them to get timely guidance and support.
By giving sex workers access to confidential medical advice, the service can help prevent untreated infections, reduce risky self-medication, and support better reproductive and mental health. Over time, the platform will foster trust, provide early interventions, and improve overall well-being for a group often excluded from mainstream healthcare.
Your contribution can help us get this project off the ground, bringing privacy, care, and peace of mind to those who need it most. Every donation moves us closer to creating a safe channel for medical support that respects dignity and confidentiality.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
