We did it!!

By Ruvi | Project Coordinator

Dear Friend,

Hello, first and foremost I am writing to you to express our gratitude for those who have supported us thus far and to inform you about all the wonderful things we have achieved so far in the month of a June and July

On behalf of YSR and all of us running the Bergen Marathon. We are very grateful  for your donation!

We truly appreciate your donation and know that it will contribute to the important work Yoga and Sport with Refugees carries out.

We are delighted to have reached our goal of $1000 dollars. Our campaign page will remain live for further donations.

Here are a few highlights of June and July within YSR.

July :

  • Starting off strong, the Athens team and some members from the community attended Refugee Week where our Muay Thai coach, Ali held a fun workshop followed later on by a friendly competition of gymnastics- we had great fun.
  • We took part in a running event where we collaborated with UNHCR and many other NGOs on the island. Staff members, volunteers and students we all together run 4 km by the castle of Mytilene! Afterwards we attended the concert at Sappho square! Amazing energy!
  • YSR held a an event  SWIM FOR GOOD off which we had participants from all over the globe such as Geneva , Ouganda , Sri Lanka, Paris and the two locations in Greece ( Athens and Lesvos) it was a great success to raise awareness of the struggle people crossing from turkey to Lesvos go through.

June :

  • We took part in the Reillfugee Festival organized by our partner La Fourmiliere as well as joined a 5km race together with many Parisian runners, the race was organized by our partner MMSports.
  • We held a volleyball tournament in the city center where local teams also joined and the vibes were immaculate
  • The Paris team is doing a great job with the new yoga for minor girls class
  • Lastly we had an amazing summer event with HH4H and Network for Children where Allstyle Crew Battle, Live music/performances, delicious Food, graffiti, a diverse Market, and numerous Activities to dive into were held

Thank  you for taking the time to read this report!! We are #strongertogether
