Our Boring Project in the region of Ziguinchor in Senegal is going from strength to strength.
Since we manually drilled our first borehole in 2018 we have now completed 242 boreholes. This equates to approximately 25,000 people being supplied with access to safely managed water. If you were stack each borehole on top of each other we'd have a hole that is 2 3/4 miles deep! Even if we do say so ourselves that is quite a feat without using machinery.
Speaking to our benificiaries we learn some of the many ways in which water can and is transforming lives. It is used for drinking, cooking, washing, bathing, growing fruit and vegetables, rearing animals, making bricks to build homes, creating new business opportunities, it saves a lot of time and effort collecting water (especially for women and children), it improves health, children spend more time in school, parents have more time to work/do chores.... the list is almost endless.
It is such a pleasure to be able to provide such a life giving and changing resource for people in need and to see the resulting transformation first hand.
In September we'll be taking part in the Litte by Little campaign. During this week-long campaign, Sept. 18-22, donations up to $50 will be matched at 50% with unlimited matching funds! Don't forget that small acts of kindness can add up to make a big impact.
