NEW ENHANCED FEATURES FOR THE GENIUS OF CARING!
We just re-launched The Genius of Caring with a new set of enhanced features. We are extremely proud of this project, which is the recipient of an National Endowment for the Arts ArtWorks grant and urge you to visit the site and get involved if you have not already. The site launched in beta format September last year in conjunction with the PBS airing of The Genius of Marian.
ABOUT THE SITE
The Genius of Caring is an interactive documentary project that captures the complex emotional experience of caring for loved ones and offers visitors a place to share stories and connect with others. The site features documentary portraits of family caregivers of those living with Alzheimer’s and other caregiving intensive diseases and allows users to contribute to a community story archive. The project offers a uniquely intimate glimpse into the caregiving experience and creates an intimate portrait of a community connected through compassion.
WHATS NEW
We have added many community building features that allow site users and caregivers to connect with each other and share the stories they have contributed. Users are now able to share their profile with their own unique "vanity URL". They are also able to send private messages to each other.
Additionally, we have included a field for users to add a link to their own blog. We've also added fields for participants to add more information to their profile and stories.
Users can now also listen to original music composed for the project while on the site using a sidebar button on the Care Gallery page. We have been lucky to work with the talented Tyler Strickland who composed original music for both the Genius of Caring portraits and The Genius of Marian documentary.
Users can also contact US easily by clicking on the new "Need Help" sidebar button with any questions they may have.
