Dear GlobalGiving Community,
Pa Seaport Kamara, one of our main characters in our documentary film sadly passed away and was buried on Sunday 14th July 2025.
His dedication and willingness to uplift the voices of his people in fishing communities across Sierra Leone was refreshing and inspiring. He gave our film crew full access to film in his fishing boats and with his family, we were always welcome in his house and he was always there to support. He was more than a character, he was a father, a grandfather father, a great grandfather and a leader that many looked up to. He has been very supportive with our impact journey, he attended some of our community screenings. His fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing activities in Sierra Leone did not go unnoticed.
Rest well Legendary Fisherman-Pa Seaport Kamara of Tombo, former National Master fisherman, 2Double2 Captain of the high seas since 1942. Your story inspired us, your struggles touched our hearts, and your resilience and legacy lives on. It was a blessing working with you on our documentary film (New Boats). May your memory continue to inspire.
In deep gratitude,
Barmmy
