Boarding School for Arts and Crafts for socially deprived children for the first time in Bulgaria and in Europe, striving to reach out to as many kids as possible facing dropping of education or never entering it due to poverty and neglect. We nurture talented and inspired children. - Currently 42 children from socially deprived families from all over Bulgaria - Completely free education and daily care (food, housing, clothes, mentorship, focus on Arts, crafts, theatre, music and dance)
In Bulgaria the rate of children dropping out of education is devastating. According to UNICEF's data 11.2% of children 3-6 and 5.7% of children 7-10 are out of school. The problem is much deeper.. There are more than 23% of the children in Bulgaria who live in terrible conditions, having emotional, social, economic and educational deficiency. This project provides a school and a home, and 24/7 care all year-round to 250 children from Bulgarian, Roma, Turkish and other minority backgrounds.
We built a School for Arts and Crafts for socially disadvantaged children in a small and beautiful village in Bulgaria and right next to it we built a residential home for children to live in all year round. We have 36 staff, 18 teachers and 18 mentors who support the children 24/7 through schooling and afterwards acting as parental support, spiritual and emotional support, guiding the children in there daily lives so they can fulfil there talents and aspirations fully.
The project will acknowledge the talent of more than 250 children, bring them back into education, rise out of poverty, support their personal growth and development, provide them with a home and ensure they are capable of finding a full-time job and be a valuable part of society once they graduate high school. The long term goal is to build another 5 residential homes for another 150 children to be educated and supported all year round up until they graduate high school.
