The School of our Dreams

Dear friends,

We have come to the middle of our school year with a first semester of exciting experiences. We must start sharing with you that we celebrated our 6th year anniversary! Yay!! Our school is six years old already! There is so much we have learned and grown in this period, here we all grow together.

This semester we had the chance to take students outdoors again as part of their research projects. They love to learn outside of their classrooms, planting trees, hopping on a bus to tour the city, watching a caterpillar in real life! It is so exciting and these memories will last forever. 

April was a busy month, there was so much to celebrate: the school's birthday, Earth's day, Spanish Language Day, and Afro-Colombian's Day. On this day especially students could go through their country's history and study how the slaves brought from Africa during the Conquest impacted our history, culture, music and customs. Students danced traditional music, sang songs, recited poems and honored the legacy of our ancestors.

2022-II will bring many challenges: preparation for English Day 2022, fifth grade graduation and to top it all: raising funds to start the construction of our second floor. YES!! We are building a second floor with three big classrooms, a music room, a maker lab for STEAM classes and a playground. It is a project budgeted in around 50K dollars so we will be updating our page in GlobalGiving in order to focus all of our efforts to raise funds for making this dream come true. Only by enhancing our facilities we will be able to dream of opening our license to have middle and high school in the future.
