The School of our Dreams

Dear friends and supporters!

Today was a great day! we could fulfill our whole expectations related to the event called "Día de la Familia" hosted at "Carpa la 50", a spaceful place where our families could share together, celebrate family life and remember the origins of our most remarkable traditions. 

Every grade prepared their own stand with typical foods, decorations related to sightseeing places from the city, there were dancing demonstrations, and of course a lot of salsa music! We could not miss "Champus", a typical cold drink prepared with lulo, corn, pinapple and a series of ingredients our locals know very well. We enjoyed some fried snacks like "empanadas" and "marranitas". Together with the typical food demonstrations, it was possible to see some representations of remarkable places like "Loma de la Cruz", "San Antonio", "Pance" river and the representative "Cristo Rey", the 26-meter-tall representation of Jesus Christ, who faces the city day and night.

Cali is not Cali without Salsa music! And of course there was much of it during the event, every group presented some parts of great musical representatives who have been remembered in our city, like: “Sonora Matancera”, “Benny Moré”, “Richie Ray y Bobby Cruz”, or the iconic “Celia Cruz”. Together with the musical history, we had a journey through the history of our city; the diffents carnivals and the traditional “Feria de Cali” was linked to the tradition of Salsa music in Cali.

The final balance was that with every event our community strengthens its links, demonstrates the highest capacity of union, creativity and the most important, the joy to share and being part of a cooperative and collaborative community.

The last was the top of a series of activities we have been doing since the last report, all of them projected to build up the first bilingual campus in Colombia for population like the one we serve to. As you may know, we switched our campaign to a most ambitious one, now we are aiming to one million dollars because we know it is possible to give our children the most suitable conditions to develop the most of their capacities, an echo-school where they can expand their abilities as much as they want to do it.
