Hello, hello
Hello my friend
Hello, hello
Hello to you!

It's Wednesday afternoon and class starts. It is a sunny day but the strong wind up here makes the weather fresh and nice. The children arrive one by one. They carry their notebook and pencilcase. Maria finds her partner and they sit together. The teacher says hello, they all sing the welcoming song, the roll is called and it has increased by two students. 22 children came to class today, the list keeps getting longer. So exciting! The teacher reviews vocabulary related to school supplies. They play hangman, pictionary and complete a wordsearch. During recess time they take the snack. Today's menu is oatmeal and crackers. After recess it is song time and they sing together "Count on me" by Bruno Mars. They have learned a new word through the two songs they have learned: friends. Class has become a means to create bonds among the children and reinforce values such as respect and tolerance. There is a positive environment in which children feel free to be themselves.

It has been three months now since the project started and we are so impressed with the motivation our group of children has towards learning. They attend every session with such enthusiasm and are involved actively in all the activities that are proposed. They also have had the opportunity to propose their own activities. We did movie time, pool day and we are soon going on a field trip to downtown Cali. Most of the people who belong to this community have never been touring their own city or getting to know its museums, historic places, and theaters. Through our activity in the social media we were contacted by a tourism company who will take this group of children sightseeing in Cali. Moreover, by the end of October we will be taking our group to visit a nursing home to celebrate together children's day.

Thank you all who have planted the seed which we now see grow strongly.

Today's session has ended and every child takes leave with a different expression they learned today:

See you
Bye-bye
See you next time
Have a good one

Thank you
