We Empower Girls!
I am excited to announce an awesome new challenge for women and girls. Sisterhood Agenda will launch a month-long campaign to raise funds to build the Sisterhood Empowerment Academy (SEA) starting July 15th and ending August 15th. We are asking all those who can help to do so NOW. Our goal is to raise $5,000 by the August 15th deadline.
There are no women centers, YWCA’s or Girls Scouts in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. Sisterhood Agenda implemented the first Female Empowerment Conference for 100 high school girls in the Virgin Islands and implements sisterhood mentoring programs for girls.
Sisterhood Agenda will use funds to build the Sisterhood Empowerment Academy (SEA), an eco-friendly female resource center: a place of knowledge, support, self-determination, and healing.
History and research shows us that communities cannot operate independent of their environment. The SEA incorporates permaculture design and premier local natural building materials while complimenting the surrounding natural environment to build a sustainable building consisting of 1,680 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting spaces with a multi-media center, and library. The facility includes organic fruit, vegetable, and herb gardens with ocean front views. Land for the academy has been secured at the envionrmentally protected eco-sytem of Frank Bay in St. John.
You can help girls create a space of their own by supporting the building of the SEA. This is a global campaign and Sisterhood Agenda has only have one month to raise as much as we can for the project. Please share this information with your friends and others to encourage them to donate, too.
Feel free to email me if you more information. Thanks so much!
Warm Regards,
Angela Coleman
