Bringing The Virtues Project to the World is the Parent Project raising funds and awareness for The Virtues Project activities happening around the world. During this reporting period, we raised funds to support three unique virtues projects promoting the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project: Virtues Project Sri Lanka, Virtues Project Fiji and Virtues Project Kenya.
At a girls school in Sri Lanka, students will be taught the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project as part of their school curriculum. Virtues Project Sri Lanka funds will provide program materials and equipment needed. Classroom Virtues Cards, The Virtues Project Educator Guides and The Virtues Project Family Guides will soon be shipped to the school. According the The World Bank, "School is often referred to as the second home where children become global citizens. In addition to gaining knowledge and skills required for the job market, values and moral standards are instilled in children through interactions at school." These Sri Lankan students will receive values and moral training through the practice of the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project.
Virtues Project Fiji is using their funds to continue their important community work to protect children from bullying and abuse by educating parents, community leaders and children through interactive workshops, parenting programs and puppetry. Recently trained local ventriloquist puppeteers are working with the children to teach them about their virtues and what to do when they are bullied and abused.
Virtues Project Kenya funds will help sponsor a Global Mentorship this February for Virtues Project facilitators and champions, along with workshops before and after the mentorship to provide community leaders and educators with a platform for discussion and powerful tools to help them address the corruption that is rampant in every sector of their society. Funds raised will help cover the costs of the mentorship, workshops and conference costs for local facilitators who would otherwise be unable to attend the mentorship.
Now, more than ever we need to Bring The Virtues Project to the World to promote peace, unity and understanding around the globe.
