Despite not having received the grant yet due to banking restrictions, it is important to note the progress that has been made. Upon receiving the grant, we anticipate being able to support more children in need and provide increased assistance and support.
In the contemporary educational landscape, the fusion of theoretical and practical knowledge is crucial. In addressing the educational gaps in remote Afghan villages, Teach for Afghanistan is grappling with the challenge of limited resources hindering hands-on learning experiences. Through GlobalGiving's online fundraising campaign, our dedicated team of fellows who are teaching in under-resourced public schools of Afghanistan is actively working towards fostering a love for science and mathematics among Afghan students – both girls and boys. Concurrently, our expert fellow coaches are spearheading the creation of educational models with reusable materials for now, emphasizing the need for high-quality resources to develop impactful maths and science models for their students.
Teach for Afghanistan, unwavering in its commitment to supporting talented students in Nangarhar and Parwan provinces, employs an innovative approach to secure a promising future. With a pledge to provide an excellent education to the Afghan children, our team identifies and supports schools in urgent need, leveraging STEM educational models to enhance student engagement and critical thinking. With the help of funding provided by our generous donors through GlobalGiving, Teach for Afghanistan will empower 2000 girls and 1000 boys in the schools of Nangarhar and Parwan provinces. Our fellows have undergone Educational Psychology, Advanced Pedagogy, Management and Leadership trainings and they are well-aware of different methodologies to make the regular studies interesting. Use of educational models is one such effective method to make students understand the subjects like mathematics and science in a better way so that they would learn them thoroughly and would also remember what they have been taught. From the previous experiences, students look forward to the lectures delivered by TAO fellows because they get to learn something new and fascinating.
Beyond academic knowledge, we believe in shaping character, with TAO fellows and fellow coaches serving as mentors, imparting values such as leadership and teamwork. This initiative aims not only to nurture a new generation of scientists but also well-rounded citizens poised to shape Afghanistan's future.
