Dear TPF Donors,
Thanks to your compassion and unwavering support, countless street animals across Türkiye continue to find safety, care, and dignity. Your generosity fuels TPF’s Street Animals Fund and allows our partners on the ground to respond with urgency, love, and expertise.
This year, with your contributions, we awarded a second grant to our trusted partner Dört Ayakl Sehir, advancing their critical work in protecting vulnerable street dogs living in high-risk rural areas of Istanbul.
Our Latest Grant at Work: Rescue My Companion
In August, TPF disbursed a $1,332 grant to support the Rescue My Companion project — a targeted, life-saving intervention for street dogs living in five underserved and high-risk rural neighborhoods in Pendik: Göçbeyli, Kurtdogmus, Kurna, Emirli, and Ballca.
These areas face severe shortages of municipal services, leaving animals exposed to illness, violence, and neglect. With your support, Dört Ayakl Sehir completed a full and impactful implementation of this pilot project.
What Your Support Made Possible
• 20 high-risk dogs rescued and rehabilitated: All 20 targeted dogs received medical screenings, neutering, vaccinations, emergency care, and ongoing rehabilitation.
• Rehoming and long-term safety: Each dog was matched with responsible adopters, ensuring long-term care and stability.
• Community awareness: Social media outreach, local engagement, and awareness events helped strengthen humane education and build compassion-based support.
A Story of Hope: Pasha
One of the dogs rescued this summer was Pasha, a 2.5–3-year-old male found dehydrated, suffering from severe skin conditions, and at immediate risk. With TPF support, Pasha received emergency veterinary care, neutering, and full rehabilitation — ultimately securing a safe and loving long-term environment.
Meaningful Impact Beyond Numbers
This project created broader ripple effects:
• Improved welfare and reduced disease risk across five rural neighborhoods
• Raised community awareness on humane treatment
• Strengthened local engagement and support networks
• Demonstrated a scalable, ethical model for rural street animal protection
Looking Ahead
Dört Ayakl Sehir aims to expand this model, strengthen advocacy for animal rights, and continue broadening rescue and rehabilitation operations through deeper community networks, policy engagement, and responsible adoption systems.
With Deepest Gratitude
Because of you, vulnerable street dogs are being rescued, treated, protected, and loved. Your commitment to TPF’s Street Animals Fund creates tangible change — not only for animals but for the communities that care for them.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Team TPF
