Girls in Bolivia face economic instability, discrimination and violence, yet they are already leading change in their communities. Through our Global Girl Leadership Initiative, delivered by our local partner, Ayni Skate Project, 100 girls will participate in a three-month leadership programme. Girls build confidence, identify local challenges and lead community events that inspire action. We seek $2,500 to make this programme possible.
Bolivia faces ongoing economic, environmental and social crises. Inflation, fuel shortages and climate disasters place heavy pressure on communities. Girls are particularly affected, with over 77% of children experiencing violence before adulthood. Many girls lack safe spaces to build confidence, leadership skills and opportunities to shape solutions in their communities. Investing in their leadership helps them become agents of change.
Through the Global Girl Leadership Initiative, girls will attend 11 weekly sessions led by local women facilitators from our partner Ayni Skate Project. They explore leadership, identify community challenges and design practical solutions. The programme culminates in a girl-led community event, where participants lead conversations and actions on issues such as environmental protection, personal safety and wellbeing. Girls learn to speak with confidence and lead change in their communities.
Girls will gain leadership skills, confidence and the ability to speak out on issues affecting their communities, including violence, discrimination and environmental challenges. As they organise events and inspire others, they create ripple effects that challenge harmful norms and encourage community action. Over time, this strengthens girls' leadership and helps build more inclusive and resilient communities. These skills stay with them long after the programme ends.
