Thanks to your generous support in 2018, Sunshine Foundation has been able to continue sharing its burn rehabilitation experience with partners in other countries through professional trainings and exchange visits.
In 2018…
We shared with our counterparts in Korea our experience helping burn survivors return to work thanks to our vocational rehabilitation services.
We completed our three-year capacity building project for burn therapists in Central and South America focusing on hand rehabilitation that started in 2016. The final training was held in Taipei and brought together eight therapists from Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Colombia, Peru and Mexico.
We welcomed two therapists from Nicaragua for a one-week study visit to learn and exchange about burn rehabilitation and the multidisciplinary work model of Sunshine.
We welcomed a psychologist from Guatemala for a three-day visit to Sunshine to learn more about our psychosocial services and burn prevention work.
We attended a burn conference and visited burn-related organizations in India to exchange about our common efforts to help burn survivors return to an active life in society.
We hope that you will continue to support our international work in 2019 as we aim to develop new cooperation projects and new training methods to help burn rehabilitation professional in other countries give burn survivors the best care possible. Again, thank you!
