Challenge

Many women in Ghana's markets lack accurate knowledge about cancer symptoms, risk factors, and early detection. Misinformation and stigma are widespread, and market women-who are central to community life-often miss opportunities for screening and preventive care. Without targeted awareness, early detection remains low.

Solution

This project will train selected market women leaders on breast, cervical, and general cancer awareness. They will receive simple educational tools and coaching on how to communicate cancer information effectively within their markets. These women will then act as peer educators, reaching hundreds of others daily.

Long-Term Impact

Training market women leaders will create a sustainable, community-driven cancer awareness network. Over time, this grassroots approach will increase early detection, reduce stigma, and empower markets across Ghana to take proactive steps toward better health.
