With the different seasons come different responsibilities. Recently we have been visiting schools to discuss crop yields, maintenance of plots and of course the less ‘interesting’ administration. It is important to keep records of farming practices, to take note of achievements, justify the actions taken and account for the use of produce for the school and community.
Helping a school to farm better is about feeding children so their bodies and minds grow strong. It is also about training them to be better farmers themselves and so we have been delighted to see young people taking part in all manner of climate smart activities, ensuring that their learning is both theoretical and practical – and like the crops…embedded.
