Train the Trainer – Project Report – February 2025
(#63478)
Problem:
Before the age of 18, approximately one in four girls and one in six boys experience sexual abuse, yet only a fraction of these cases are reported due to stigma and shame. In the Middle East, societal norms often suppress discussions around sexual abuse, exacerbating its impact on survivors. Children who endure sexual abuse are highly susceptible to long-term emotional and psychological challenges such as anxiety, anger, and PTSD.
Solution:
The Train the Trainer Program is designed to catalyze positive change within affected communities. By equipping trainers with comprehensive training in violence prevention, the program empowers them to facilitate workshops and behavioral changes at individual, familial, and community levels.
The URGENT Need for More Trainers:
Not Guilty is thrilled to announce its recent expansion into Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Department of Community Development’s Ma’an Social Incubator. The Ma'an Social Incubator fosters and invests in social enterprises that show a clear capacity to create lasting social impact by addressing priorities in education, social development, health, and the environment. We are honored to be chosen!
As we expand our work, we need more trainers. Our goal is to recruit and train 60 additional trainers for the Middle East and Abu Dhabi. Please consider supporting this important need so that more children and youth can be protected. By investing in trainers who can educate, advocate, and empower, we can dismantle the cycle of silence and stigma around sexual abuse and bullying.
Thank you in advance.
