By JACQUELINE AUDIGE | CEO / Founder
We do not give thanks to you just on Thanksgiving Day, but every day of the year. During the past two years since we introduced you to the Aumazo tutoring program, you have given with much love. Your gifts have created greatness and made a big difference in the lives of the girls such as Audrey, who lives in Bankondji village in Cameroon.
Please meet Audrey (https://youtu.be/qFqwCs6J3sg). She is the new single mother of two who joined our tutoring program early in academic year 2018-19. She has been out of school for the past five years. Audrey said that she got the inspiration to return to school from her former classmates. Many of them who were enrolled in the program in the past two years, successfully passed their high school entrance exams. Currently, they are all attending a high school of their choice given that we have not completed building our own school.
Our Method Yielded Fantastic Results
We have worked together with you to grow our program’s success, making it a billion times stronger than what we have anticipated at the beginning of the Aumazo project. The past academic year 2017-18 81.25percent of the girlsin general education and 50 percent in technical education who took the exam passed the high school entrance exam.
These results are in a large part attributable to the application of our methodology, which emphasizes mutual respect between the students and teachers as well as collaborative learning. Our teachers are also trained to give individual attention to students’ learning and emotional needs.
Successful Students Inspiring Others
It is clear, as Audrey stated, that these attributes played a big role in her decision to return to school and join the tutoring program. She also got the inspiration from our first single mother Raïssa, who entered the program and succeeded in the high school entrance exam last year. These fantastic results stimulate our increasing trust in the brighter future that lies ahead for AUMAZO, INC. We are very confident that, together, we will tackle all the new challenges that come with the success.
Our Very Impactful Campaigns
You have a unique opportunity to make even a biggest difference in the lives of our girls this giving season. It starts with #GivingTuesdayonNov. 27, 2018, at 00:00:00 ET and end at 23:59:59 ET on Nov. 27, 2018and the Year-End Campaignthat begins at 00:00:00 ET on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, and ends at 23:59:59 ET on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018.
Our Funding Goals
We have to raise $70,000+to complete the first four classrooms; the workshop and materials store room, to get ready to welcome the next cohort of graduates into our own school building by fall 2019. In addition, we have to finish work on the sanitation and water project that started two weeks ago. The twenty-three girls that graduated from the tutoring program for the last two academic years would have entered our school if only we had the buildings and water system in place.
Please mark your calendar now with the dates above. I really would not want you to miss out on the #GivingTuesdayandYear-End Campaign.Together, and in harmony, we will rise to the challenges and help Audrey succeed in her high school entrance and enter Aumazo’s high school to stay close to her community and raise her two children. This is the best present we can give her and her children.
Again, thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Audige and the Board
