The months from November 2025 to January 2026 were packed with learning, competition, wellness, and community across both Zindagi Trust schools. This report walks through the highlight’s month by month, keeping things clear and grounded.
SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls School — November 2025
— Teacher Development —
British Council Edu Symposium – Islamabad (2–5 Nov)
An Early Childhood Education (ECE) teacher from SMB represented Sindh at this four-day national symposium at the Islamabad Marriott Hotel. The theme ‘Creativity, Inclusion, and Empowerment' — brought educators from all provinces together for collaborative learning. A proud moment for the school on a national stage.
Pakkay Dost & UNICEF Event – Aga Khan University (20 Nov)
ECE staff attended a collaborative event at AKU Auditorium where Pakkay Dost's educational cartoons were screened and discussed. The session explored how quality Urdu content supports children's language development while addressing hygiene and safety themes.
Students’ Participation in Model United Nations (MUN)
25 students from Grades 8–10 participated in the MUN event, developing diplomacy, research, and public speaking skills. Four students received special recognition for exceptional performance.
Computer Science Teaching Workshop
Computer teachers attended a hands-on workshop held at TCF Head Office where trainers demonstrated student-friendly methods for teaching digital skills, providing practical takeaways to bring straight back to the classroom.

Children's Day – ECE Celebration
ECE students marked Children’s Day with interesting performances, a Wish Tree activity, and interactive games. Parents attended as the audience encouraged the children and later joined in select activities, including puzzle-solving and making decorative crowns alongside their children, creating a warm and inclusive event.

Measles, Rubella & Polio Vaccination Drive – ECE (18, 19 & 25 Nov)
45 ECE students aged 3–5 were vaccinated against measles, rubella, and polio through a well-coordinated drive conducted under the supervision of the school administration and the Union Council team. Parents were informed in advance, and students were guided through the vaccination process in an organized and systematic manner.

Alumni Meeting – Higher Education & Support
Alumni from the Class of 2022–23 were invited to discuss post-intermediate plans. The meeting encouraged university applications and explored financial support options for those who need help with commute or expenses.

Sherazi Sports Academy – U-14 Throwball Festival
The U-14 Throwball team participated in the Sherazi Sports Academy Festival and won four matches, including against Aga Khan School and ECOLE, before reaching the final, where they secured 2nd position. This was a strong display of competitive performance against a skilled opponent, which not only provided encouragement but also helped develop sportsmanship and team spirit.

Meri Sehat Health Camp (Multi-Day)
A five-day health camp organized by the Meri Sehat team provided free check-ups to students (Grades 5–10), over 300 parents, and all school staff. Specialists in general medicine, ultrasound, gynecology, and pediatrics participated. Every participant received six months of free virtual consultation access through the Meri Sehat app.

Student Result Data Analysis Session
Teachers reviewed academic performance data in the presence of Zindagi Trust’s Academic Director. The session identified areas needing attention and included planning for the next academic year.

Chiragh-e-Danish Mushairah – Daughters of Islam
Four students from Grades 8–10 competed in an Urdu poetry event at Taqwa Model School. All four delivered confident performances and returned with shields.
STEAM Muqablo 2025 – School Round (10 Dec)
24 students from Grades 6–8 competed in four creative challenges. The winning project, 'Reimagine Your Ride,' earned a spot at the district level.
Self-Led Project Exhibition
Students from Grades 3-5 presented independently developed projects, showcasing critical thinking and hands-on innovation. Parents joined as visitors, turning it into a genuine community showcase.
Sindhi Culture Day
This occasion was celebrated to showcase the beauty of Sindhi culture and to help students appreciate cultural diversity. Older students performed Sindhi songs in the morning assembly, while younger children created artwork inspired by Ajrak patterns, offering a colorful tribute to the heritage.
Session on Social Media for Creative Careers
22 selected students from Grades 8–10 joined a session on using Instagram and LinkedIn for career-building, led by a professional currently at LinkedIn, New York City. Participants were shortlisted from a larger group based on the self-made products they created for the Bacha Party activity, which were displayed at the school. The session provided students with practical guidance on building their professional presence and showcasing their creative work effectively.

Inter-House Scrabble Championship (11 Dec)
30 students from Grades 6–9 played five rounds of Scrabble in the Chess Room, competing for all school houses. The tournament sharpened vocabulary and strategic thinking in an upbeat, competitive atmosphere.
1st Rapid Inter-School Chess Tournament – Organized by Zindagi Trust (13 Dec)
Hosted at KPS, the tournament attracted around 200 players from Karachi's top schools — KGS, BVS, Beaconhouse, Habib Public, NJV, and more. SMB Fatima Jinnah won 1st Position Overall. KPS finished as 1st Runner-Up, and Karachi Grammar School as 2nd Runner-Up. Medals, certificates, and cash prizes were awarded.
Youth Rapid Chess Tournament – Russian Center (Friendship House)
10 SMB students from Grades 3–9 competed alongside renowned private schools — SMB was the only government school in the field. Students claimed 1st and 3rd positions in Under-12 and Under-14 categories, and 3rd in Under-16.

35th National Games 2025 – Football (6–13 Dec)
A Grade 9 student represented Sindh at the National Games, finishing as the province's top scorer with 11 goals — including 10 in a single match. Sindh finished 3rd overall, and her contribution was central to that result.
Kick Off Academy U-19 Girls Futsal Tournament
12 students from Grades 8–10 won 1st position, defeating Cedar College and Alpha College. Three players received individual awards: Best Scorer, Best Goal, and Best Goalkeeper.
Annual Sports Day – ECE to Grade 4
A lively Sports Day for younger students featured Glass Holding, Lemon Spoon, Balance the Ball, and Treasure Hunt races. Students received medals and certificates, and parents joined in the fun.
Annual Sports Day – Grades 5 to 10
The senior Sports Day featured 100m races, Long Jump, Hurdle Race, Tug of War, and PT displays. Distinguished guests attended, Girl Guides and Scouts performed, and all participants received recognition. Winners took home medals.

Musical Performance – College of Physicians & Surgeons
15 music students performed at the College of Physicians & Surgeons, representing the school with creativity and discipline before a distinguished audience.
Musical Performance – Lux Style Awards at Mohatta Palace
15 students performed alongside a professional music team at the Lux Style Awards — a prestigious national platform. The performance was appreciated by celebrities and the organizing team alike.
Reward Trip – Classes 4 & 5 to Karachi Films
Students who excelled in attendance, punctuality, and academics were taken to watch an animated film. The outing included games and creative stalls — a well-deserved reward for their commitment.

Urdu Magazine-Making Competition & Exhibition – Grade 7
Students across all sections of Grade 7 created self-made magazines in groups. The best entries were displayed in morning assemblies and kept in the school library. Parents were invited to view the exhibition.
Musical Instruments Activity
Students from Grade 4 actively explored how variations in materials and playing techniques influence sound, presented their instruments to the class, and enhanced their communication and organizational skills.
STEAM Muqablo – District Round 2026
Competing among 56 schools of District South, SMB's team presented 'Reimagine Your Ride' and secured 1st Position at the district level — a well-earned reward for months of creative work and preparation.
Volunteer Program at SIUT – Matric Biology Students
Three Matric students took part in a 6-day volunteer program at the SIUT Institute of Urology & Transplantation. They visited pediatric surgery wards, attended first aid and CPR sessions, and learned about organ donation. All three received certificates from SIUT.
Financial Literacy Session by EY (Ernst & Young)
85 students attended an interactive session by a 10-member EY team covering budgeting, savings, and smart money management. A hands-on 'Money in Your Hand' budgeting activity made the concepts practical and memorable.

Karachi Marathon 2026
19 students completed the 5 km race at the Marathon Expo among 3,000+ participants. Each received a medal and t-shirt — a real confidence boost for young athletes.
Karachi United School Championship (KUSC) – Football
12 students from Grades 9–10 competed in this elite championship alongside 120 schools. The team advanced through to the semifinals and finished 3rd overall. One player was named Best Scorer for her standout performance across the tournament.

Musical Performance – Getz Pharma Annual Program
15 music students performed at Getz Pharma's annual program alongside a professional music team — another proud representation of the school on a corporate platform.
Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs)
PTMs were held across all grade levels. Parents of younger students were briefed on health initiatives and academic progress; parents of Grades 3–10 reviewed results and shared feedback. A collaborative, open approach throughout.
School-Wide Deworming Campaign
All 1,519 students from ECE to Grade 10 received deworming medication in a well-organized health drive supervised by the school's health team.
Bimonthly Assessments – Grades 5 to 10
Structured assessments based on targeted learning outcomes were conducted across Grades 5–10. Students received syllabus well in advance, and results provided a clear picture to guide ongoing academic support.
Khatoon-e-Pakistan Government Girls School (KPS) — December 2025

Sindh Young Innovators Expo 2025 (4 Dec)
KPS participated in the Sindh Young Innovators Expo 2025 held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS)Single Section, Sachal Goth. Students presented a project on environmental issues, recycling, and community solutions. Our school secured 2nd Position in the Science Exhibition Category — an impressive result in its first appearance at this expo.
'Stronger Minds, Brighter Futures' – Positive Psychology Workshop (8 Dec)
Bahria University students facilitated an interactive workshop on Positive Psychology for KPS girls. Activities included SMART Goal Writing and a Glimmer Hunt, helping students build confidence, develop a growth mindset, and practice emotional reflection.
STEAM Muqablo – KPS School Round (15 Dec)
KPS hosted the STEAM Muqablo School Round in its Multipurpose Hall. Students competed in four challenges: Reimagine Your Neighborhood, Design a Playscape, Reimagine Your Ride, and a Teachers' Challenge. Groups from each challenge qualified for the district level. An on-the-spot award ceremony was held with guests and officials.

1st Rapid Inter-School Chess Tournament – Zindagi Trust (13 Dec)
Hosted at KPS School, the tournament brought together around 200 players from Karachi's top schools. KPS finished as 1st Runner-Up Overall, with players placing in the Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16 girls' categories.
PM's National Mind Sports Initiative – Rapid Chess Tournament (21 Dec)
Three KPS players (including an alumna) competed in a FIDE Rated tournament at CMA Community Centre, Karachi, alongside national and international players. One player won 1st Position in Under-16 Girls, and another secured 2nd Position in Under-12 — remarkable results at this level of competition.

Annual Sports Day – ECE Section (17 Dec)
Held for the first time for such young students at KPS, this ECE Sports Day was a community milestone. Parents rehearsed for an entire week and delivered the event commentary themselves. Alumni managed operations on the ground. The atmosphere was vibrant and the turnout strong, a new benchmark for school-community partnership.
Annual Sports Day – Grades 1 to 10 (20 Dec)
The Sports Day for Grades 1–10 opened with Qirat, Naat, March Past, Torch Ceremony, and the National Anthem. Student performances, cheerleading, and PT displays preceded the races, which included Tunnel Crawl, Frog Race, Sack Race, Relay, Hurdles, and Sprints. Futsal and throwball matches added excitement for the senior grades. Teachers, staff, and parents participated in special games. The Blue House was crowned overall winner.

Financial Literacy Session by EY (14 Jan)
Grade 8 students attended a one-hour financial literacy session delivered by EY team members. Topics included budgeting, tracking spending and savings, and responsible financial habits — practical skills that students can apply immediately.
STEAM Muqablo – District Round East (28 Jan)
Nine KPS students competed at GGHSS Block 6, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, among 30 schools. The results: Challenge 2 (Design a Playscape) earned 3rd Position, and Challenge 3 (Reimagine Your Ride – Safe and Comfortable) claimed 1st Position. Both projects used recycled materials to address real community needs — creativity and purpose in action.
Looking Ahead
These three months offer a clear picture of what holistic education looks like at SMB and KPS — competitions won, workshops attended, health drives completed, stages shared, and communities brought closer together. The dedication shown by students, staff, and parents across both schools reflects a shared commitment to growth that extends well beyond the classroom. The momentum built here will be carried forward into the months ahead
