Empower Youth Transition from Orphanage to Society

In 2026, Fundación Transición a la Vida has continued supporting young people as they prepare for education, employment, and independent adulthood. We have completed approximately 61% of our planned activities. Although we have faced operational and social challenges, we continue moving forward with flexibility and commitment.

Our work this year has focused on three essential areas:

Comprehensive Development Program, helping young people strengthen life skills, continue their education, make informed decisions, and build realistic plans for their future.

Mental Health Program, providing psychological support and safe spaces where participants can process their experiences, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop healthier coping strategies.

EleMentor, our mentoring and employability program, which prepares young people for the workplace through guidance, practical training, interview preparation, and support in accessing employment and internship opportunities.

One of the most meaningful moments of the year occurred during an event recognizing the essential role of caregivers. A young woman from our program participated in the panel and shared how her caregiver continues to motivate her every day. She explained that, without this support, she might have returned to her hometown and abandoned her studies. Today, she is in the second year of her psychology degree.

Her story reminded us that successful transitions are not built through training alone. Young people also need consistent adults who believe in them, encourage them, and remain present during moments of uncertainty.

This year also reaffirmed another important role we have as an organization: advocacy. We have participated in conversations and debates related to the development of public policies that protect the rights of children and adolescents. While civil society organizations continue to face significant challenges, these spaces are also an opportunity to raise awareness, make overlooked realities visible, and ensure that the experiences of young people are considered in decision-making.

Reaching 61% represents important progress, but there is still much work ahead. With the support of our donors, we will continue strengthening comprehensive development, mental health, mentoring, employability, and advocacy so that young people do not have to navigate the transition into adulthood alone.
