Promoting cacao as high valued crop

Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for your continuing support to our initiative tree growing for food and biodiversity improvement. The growing of trees is important for our villages with its many benefits like improvement of soil fertility, prevention of flash floods and improvement of biodiversity but oftentimes the needs of the farmers for food and income is overlooked making tree growing unattractive for them. There is a need to promote and highlight both benefits that is food, income and the higher goals of improving biodiversity. In this manner we focus our attention during this reporting period the growing of cacao as high-valued crop and one with the potential of improving the incomes of farmers. Cacao is sought after and commands high price in the market. We were able to support 70 farmers by providing them with technical assistance on how to care and manage their cacao trees so that yields is improved. Hoping for your continuing support to our initiative. Thank you so much.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora Sayre
