Dear friends,
This is not our typical update. Usually, we would be sharing photos and stories from our orchard projects with tribal nations. Sadly, these are not typical times.
While we are not ready to share all of what has transpired, we can tell you that the federal funding cuts to nonprofits have impacted our organization, particularly our tribal programs. We have therefore been derailed in our project planning and funding for 2025 and are working to recuperate and regroup.
We have amazing tribal partners who are ready and waiting to get to work planting food-producing forests on their lands. Unfortunately, without the funding we had planned for, the waiting will have to continue for the time being.
In the meantime, we would greatly appreciate your support. Every dollar donated here is set aside for creating orchards and distributing trees to Native households and community spaces. Once we have raised enough, we can begin planting again.
We value your previous and continued support towards food sovereignty for Native nations.
With hope,
The FTPF Team
