Janet is a talented artisan and mother of two who has been a part of the Imani Collective team for 5 years now, working in the weaving department in our Old Town location. Since becoming a part of our community, Janet and her family have experienced a transformative journey of empowerment that has changed every aspect of their lives.

Before joining Imani Collective, Janet faced the harsh yet common reality of unemployment in her community in Kenya, residing in a single-room dwelling without electricity, and struggling to provide for her two children.

After 5 years of gaining sustainable income and being empowered to provide for her children and utilize her true talents, Janet radiates joy and contentment. She has not only been able to enroll her children in school but also upgraded her living conditions to a house equipped with electricity. In a testament to her determination and hard work, she purchased a small piece of land and constructed a home that she and her two children will soon be moving into.

Janet's resilience and dedication have not only elevated her own life but also serve as an inspiration to others within Imani Collective. As we celebrate our 10-year milestone, Janet stands as a living embodiment of the positive impact our collective efforts can have on individual lives, and the ripple effects of this impact that will transform generations.
