As we shared in the previous report, thanks to your warm support, we provided the emergency water and sanitation assistance to Al Ajami camp in Salqin, North West Syria. We constructed 10 latrine units with hand washing sinks, shower rooms and solar-powered lightings.

One of those affected by the earthquakes who evacuated to this camp after the earthquakes, spoke of the changes in the camp's situation as a result of the assistance provided.

“There were not enough latrine unites in the camp, and we had to wait for a long time to use them. The situation has become better and completely changed after the implementation of the water and sanitation project by JEN through their partner organization. The access of the latrine units became much easier, and we no longer have the difficulties we faced in the past. We are grateful from the bottom of our heart to all who are involved in this project and provided this service to the residents of the camp.”

In Turkey, as we also mentioned in the previous report, we distributed food and non-food items in Kahramanmaras and Sanliurfa, two of the worst-affected cities after the earthquakes.

We distributed food and non-food items to a cumulative total of 12,565 and 7,016 people respectively.

And from the monitoring survey we conducted after the implementation of the project, we confirmed that 98.7% of beneficiaries said that the food they received improved the quantity and quality of their meals and 95.4% of beneficiaries said that the contents distributed were adequate.

We would like to thank once again everyone who has supported us. In Turkey, where the earthquakes have heavily affected millions of people, JEN will continue its support activities for the affected people including Syrian refugees and host communities, who have been facing difficult conditions since before the earthquakes. We hope that you will continue to watch over and support our activities. Thank you very much.

* In implementing the project, we have also used donations and grants entrusted to JEN in addition to those raised on this page.
