By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friends,
Greetings from Leyte. Our gardening initiative for beneficiaries living in bunk-houses is given a big boost by the visit of an important person and as part of her mission as the reigning Queen. The bunk-house residents we more encouraged and excited to receive the guest as well as to continue on with their gardening initiative. During the visit vegetable seeds, certificates of appreciation, garden tools and supplies were given to the leaders for distribution to their members later on. Gardening continue to be one of the best approach in terms of improving the lives of the typhoon survivors. It is during their gardening activity that they talk about their future plans especially on where they can be finally settled permanently and not live in the bunk-house. At least when they go to their assigned permanent homes, they will already bring with them life survival skills which is very much needed here.
Again, thank you very much and hoping for additional support from you.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
