Dear All Friends,
Starting next week we will be starting to provide coconut seedlings to poor beneficiaries farming in the barrio of Mahayahay in Ormoc City. Mahayahay is a mountain barrio passable via gravel road and the trip going there is difficult. The barrio is badly hit by the typhoon being located where heavy winds can hit it direct. Almost all of the coconut trees were destroyed and the ones left standing would not be able to bear fruit for a long time. Coconuts is the main livelihood of local farmers in Mahayahay. Nobody is spearheading the re-planting of coconut trees that is why we are doing it. We succeeded in bringing coconut seeds from our base in Mindanao and grow it in our farm near Ormoc City. This planting time we will target a total of 75 farmer-beneficiaries.
Hoping for your continuing support to this excellent initiative. Please help advocate our project to your colleagues and friends.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
