Creating Spaces of Inclusion and Hope

During June and July 2025, the UBECI Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to building safe, inclusive, and respectful spaces for children. Through an educational and recreational approach, work was done to strengthen social and cultural diversity, promote self-care, and develop fundamental skills in children and adolescents in vulnerable situations.

 General Objectives

  • To promote social and cultural diversity by creating inclusive and discrimination-free environments.
  • To promote children's personal and emotional development, strengthening self-esteem, empathy, and respect for differences. 
  • To stimulate cognitive, social, and motor skills through recreational and educational activities. 
  • To promote hygiene and self-sanitation practices in an educational and fun way. 
  • To encourage the use of recycled materials as part of sustainable environmental education.

 Activities – June 2025

During June, activities aimed to promote equality, cultural identity, and respect for diversity, art, play, and expression as pedagogical tools. Spaces for emotional support and active participation were created where children could feel safe and valued.

 Activities:

  • Welcome song: “Hola Hola como estas “ 
  • Group song: “We Are Different” 
  • Hygiene workshop: Hand and face washing with volunteer support. 
  • Creativity workshop: Making puppets representative of diversity, using recycled materials. 
  • Cultural workshop: Creating Devil Huma masks with paper and cardboard, decorated with colorful elements. 
  • Cultural and recreational activity: “Music of my land,” with choreography inspired by the culture of the Ecuadorian Sierra, using handmade masks. 
  • Farewell song: “Clock, Clock.”

 Activities – July 2025

In July, the previous objectives were reinforced, with a focus on developing social skills, conflict resolution, and teamwork. The proposed activities aim to strengthen teamwork. mutual respect and effective communication among children, while also promoting English language learning in a fun and engaging way.

 Results and Impact

  • Through these activities, the UBECI Foundation achieved:
  • Fostering inclusive environments where children felt free to express themselves without fear of rejection.
  • Reinforcing values such as tolerance, respect, empathy, and cooperation.
  • Promoting hygiene habits in a consistent and fun way.
  • Stimulating sensory development, fine and gross motor skills, kinesthetic coordination, and key cognitive skills.
  • Encouraging creativity, imagination, and collaborative work through the responsible use of recycled materials.
