Dear Friend,

Around the world, children continue to face extraordinary challenges as they are caught in conflict, disaster, displacement and economic turmoil. In 2026, UNICEF estimates that more than 200 million children will require humanitarian assistance in 133 countries across the globe. Their lives are being shaped by forces far beyond their control: violence, the threat of famine, intensifying climate shocks, and the widespread collapse of essential services.

With your support, UNICEF teams and partners are working every day in the hardest-hit contexts to protect children from disease, malnutrition, violence, exploitation, and loss of learning. In the first half of 2025, UNICEF achieved the following results for children in emergencies:

  • 5.7 million children vaccinated against measles
  • 2.8 million children with severe malnutrition admitted for treatment
  • 21.1 million people access safe water
  • 6.9 million children benefiting from formal or non-formal education
  • 4.6 million children, adolescents, and caregivers accessing mental health and psychosocial support
  • 792,668 households reached with UNICEF-funded cash transfer

We are deeply grateful to partners and donors like you for your commitment to make UNICEF’s work in humanitarian emergencies possible. As UNICEF relies entirely on voluntary contributions, UNICEF’s humanitarian action depends on our collective willingness and ability to address children’s most pressing needs by investing in proven solutions. Together, we can turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s opportunities — and ensure that every child, no matter where they live, has the chance to survive, grow and thrive.

In partnership,

Sha Ni Wang
