Dear Supporters,
We thought we would share with you some fundraisers that have already taken place in 2018 and some to keep an eye out for!
GVI Fiji's Great Moturiki Beach Clean:
Volunteers, Staff and Local Community members of the local community have completed a district wide beach clean across our neighboring Moturiki Island, which consists of 10 coastal villages and is 7 miles long. The money raised from this challenge will go towards water sanitation, hygiene, WaSH efforts through awareness workshops, lessons in schools, improving rainwater harvesting and building more compost toilets.
They raised a total of £486.94
Cap Ternay’s Seychelles Eco-Marathon:
Volunteers and Staff members joined in on the Seychelles Eco-Marathon where they got the choice to participate in a 5km, 10km, half marathon or full! A lot of training went into this fundraiser in order to raise awareness for the issues surrounding sharks and rays, especially those in the Seychelles area. They ran the marathon holding signs and dressed up to ensure everyone participating or watching was made aware of what they were doing.
They raised a total of £610.10
Khum Suks Story:
Something to look out for, on the 23rd of March for an entire week, you can follow GVI Chiang Mai as they showcase the journey that has taken khum Suk from a 100kg new born Elephant to the 66 year old matriarch female of our reintroduction program. You can follow GVI Chiang Mai on Facebook as they showcase the challenges and trials representative of her story.
We are always so grateful for your support and look forward to a great year filled with many fundraisers ahead!
With Gratitude,
The GVI Trust
