Looking Back on 2018

By Carly Kruyer | Operations Manager

Dear Supporters,

As we launch ourselves into 2019, we would like to take a look back on 2018 and say thank you to all our donors, supporters and partners for your contributions, without you, 2018 would not have been possible.

In 2018 we raised around £127,442.00 and thanks to your support, we were able to provide another year of support to over 30 projects in over 13 different countries.

To name a few of the things we accomplished in 2018 as a team;

  • In South Africa we delievered 81 sewing workshops, 2,395 computer lessons, 84 girls empowerment lessons.
  • In Nepal, HART ran a 5 day campaign that neutered and vaccinated 201 dogs.
  • In Laos they achieved their goal of sponsoring over 100 students and ran a Menstrual Health Initiative that has reached over 699 woman, which we recently raised £2,615 for in a fundraiser.
  • In India we raised $491 for the disaster relief after flooding.
  • In Thailand we continued to support our three elephants, Khum Suk, Lulu and Sadja, where they were able to spend another year free in the forest.
  • In Zimbabwe, we continued to support the healthy lunches of 250 day scholars, encouraging them to attend school. In Akumal, we raised $1,737 in a fundraiser for diving equiptment and materials for the coral restoration project.
  • In Fiji we focused on the building of compost toilets, WaSH workshops, water usage and hygiene and sanitation.

There have been so many amazing things that have happened over 2018 and we are so thankful for everyone who contributed in there own way.

In 2018, The Trust has been working internally on many changes that we will be launching in 2019, such as a brand refresh, new website and new fundraising platforms!

We look forward to sharing another year strengthing communities and protecting our planet, as a team.

With gratitude,

The GVI Trust
