FundLife receives Most Outstanding Partner Award

Dear Supporters,

With renewed purpose and unwavering determination, we began 2024 with extraordinary momentum, driven by your incredible dedication to FundLife's mission. We are proud to share that FundLife was recognized by the Department of Education Tacloban City Division as one of its Most Outstanding Partners for our unwavering dedication and exceptional contribution to providing access to quality education to children, especially those who are most vulnerable. This prestigious award has been bestowed upon FundLife since 2019.

Building on this recognition, FundLife has reached a remarkable milestone, directly impacting 895 children: 464 boys, 425 girls, and six non-binary children. This achievement underscores our commitment to inclusivity and support for all youth.

Expanding on our progress from 2023, where we partnered with 16 schools, FundLife has forged new alliances with ten additional public schools. These vital partnerships have enabled us to extend our reach, providing critical learning support and access to inspiring youth mentors for even more in-school children who need it the most.

FundLife has made a significant impact through its initiatives, achieving the following:

  • Conducted 140 study support sessions focused on literacy and numeracy, significantly improving students' vocabulary, reading comprehension, and appreciation for mathematics. Initially, 90% of the participating children had an unfavorable view of math, which has now changed positively due to engaging and fun activities.
  • Delivered 149 football sessions emphasizing Hygiene and Water Sanitation, Water-Borne Diseases, and Child Rights, leading to improved awareness and practices among children regarding these critical issues.
  • Organized 24 Mini-Champions League events that offered the best-performing children from various sites the chance to apply their football and futsal skills, enhance self-awareness, and benefit from youth mentorship programs.
  • Conducted 18 mentorship sessions aimed at improving children's understanding of Safety and Security and Mental Health, fostering trust and communication between children and their mentors.
  • Engaged 360 children from marginalized communities in a tournament to raise awareness about water pollution, sanitation, and conservation practices. The event provided practical solutions to water-related issues, empowering children to address the water crisis in their schools and communities.
  • Trained 33 public school teachers, youth leaders, and mentors on Food and Water-Borne Diseases and Water Sanitation, enhancing their ability to educate and protect their communities.
  • Held 6 consultation meetings with parents, school teachers, and project recipients to monitor project progress and address any implementation challenges promptly, ensuring the effectiveness and sustainability of initiatives.

Despite the significant challenges posed by the cancellation of classes and events due to the increasing heat index, we persevered. Our team adapted by implementing flexible schedules and alternative learning methods to ensure uninterrupted support for the children. Your unwavering support and generosity have been instrumental in overcoming these obstacles, allowing us to continue making a profound impact on the lives of those we serve.

Together, we are changing lives and shaping brighter futures. Thank you for standing with us.
