An urgent appeal to save girls from traffickers

Dear Global Givers,

We are pleased to share a scholars’ progress update on Kiran and Pooja who are young bright recipients of your support which aims to “save 2 girls from traffickers.”

As expressed in the last progress report, Kiran and Pooja were preparing for their mid-term exams in November 2023. Kiran scored average marks in her recent exams because of medical reasons and an unstable environment at home. Despite these setbacks, Kiran is determined to improve her academic standing.

Pooja’s academic performance has been good despite the familial pressures to discontinue her education.Though pressure from her family's expectations has, from time to time, affected both her mental and physical health. This in return poses significant barriers to her academic focus and overall well-being. Despite these obstacles, Pooja is determined to pursue her education. 

The scholars are now intensively preparing for their upcoming unit tests, scheduled for the first week of March. These tests are crucial for her to gauge her understanding and readiness for the main exams slated for April 2024. 

Aside from her studies, Kiran has actively participated in various dance events in school and marched in a parade organised to facilitate Lok Sabha speaker, at her school’s annual day programme. The team on the ground is providing mentoring and counselling support to cope with the academic and family related pressure. 

While both scholars are grateful for the scholarship, they also look forward to continued support and encouragement, especially in the upcoming new academic year.
