In March 2025, Bahía Blanca experienced one of the worst floods in its history. In just a few hours, nearly 290 mm of rain fell, leaving neighborhoods under water, families displaced, and homes destroyed. The tragedy claimed the lives of at least 16 people, forced more than 1,400 to evacuate, and left thousands struggling to rebuild their lives.
Thanks to your generous support, Mensajeros de la Paz was able to move beyond emergency aid and focus on long-term recovery. Together with Habitat for Humanity, we carried out 25 roof repairs and 50 wall restorations, giving families safe and dignified shelter once again. These interventions are not just repairs—they represent the recovery of hope.
We also helped restore the damaged equipment at the Centro de Formación Profesional in Ingeniero White, ensuring that young people and adults can continue their training and education despite the devastation. This step is vital to help families rebuild their livelihoods and future opportunities.
One of the most moving moments came when the girls from our Hogar Meraki joined us as volunteers to repaint a flood-damaged house in the Saladero neighborhood. Seeing them transform from recipients of care into agents of solidarity was deeply inspiring—for them, for the families, and for us as an organization.
We are thrilled to share that, thanks to your incredible generosity, we reached our fundraising goal for this campaign. Your support has not only provided material help but has also ignited a wave of solidarity that is rebuilding Bahía Blanca piece by piece. We are deeply grateful for your trust, and we want you to know that every dollar of your contribution is turning into roofs repaired, walls rebuilt, tools restored, and above all, lives filled with hope again.
