Starting this new challenge

Dear donor,

I'm happy to share some information with you about Empower 2,000 more Venezuelan Children to Succeed!, the project we are currently working on, thanks to your generous support.

As you know, we follow a simple, 4-step process: identify the schools (we actually received requests from public schools in 2021, which is a welcomed change), train the teachers, distribute materials, and supervise implementation. We have been doing this since 2005, and our staff and trainers have become very efficient.

At present, we will start working with three schools: Elena Torres, Santa Teresa, and Santa Rosalía, all in Revenga, Estado Aragua, Venezuela. Until mid-October, the schools were busy doing the student enrollment process for the 2022-2023 school year, so as of today, classes have not yet started.

As we have mentioned previously, all 62 Alive to the World teachers were invited to our two-day Educator Training Workshops held at their schools in the month of April, and all completed them successfully. Each one received a UPEL Certificate, valid for a small salary increase, for which they are very grateful. UPEL stands for Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador.

Up to now, student books were distributed as follows: 100 in Elena Torres School (33% of the students); 100 in Santa Teresa School (25% of the students), and 170 in Santa Rosalía School (28% of the students). As we receive new donations, we will complete the books for all the students, so that each one has a book. Also, there were distributed 62 teachers to the schools. These books will remain in the school library for future use.

I am looking for to sharing with you, in my next quarterly report, updated information and photos of the start of this school year.

However, we want to take this opportunity to tell you that Empower 2,000 more Venezuelan Children to Succeed! has been one of the projects selected by #GlobalGiving to participate in the #GivingTuesday campaign on November 29th. #GivingTuesday is a day that takes place once a year worldwide, dedicating to share, consider and act in favor of others, especially those most in need.

This year, #GlobalGiving will distribute the impressive amount of $1,200,000.00 dollars among the participating organizations, and the distribution will be proportional to the donations we receive that day. Once again, we hope we can work together with you to offer our program to the total amount of 2000 students included in this project.

In the coming days Christine, another fundraising team member or I will email you to explain the simple rules of how to participate. Our goal is to try to score high and receive the highest possible percentage from #GlobalGiving to continue offering our program to more and more children in need.

You have been an outstanding donor! I hope we can continue to work together, investing in values that make our children the promising citizens we all want and need.

Thank you for your continue support,

Marian

Estimado donante,

Marian
