On July 20th, we celebrated the graduation of a new group of students who completed 6th grade at Jenaro, Promotion XXIII. Having accompanied these children in this stage of their education is a source of pride for all of us who, in one way or another, are part of this daily task.

In her farewell speech, the school principal, Sister Ana Isabel, motivated the children to continue working towards their dreams. She emphasized that it is up to them to lead a responsible life and to never forget the values they have learned. Each of them has a life project ahead, and there may be deviations along the way, but nothing should deter them from their goals. The important thing is to keep moving forward.

At that moment, I saw Randhi, one of the 6th grade students, smiling and shaking his head. He said, "No, my path is not going to change." Seeing his confidence and excitement, I felt moved as well. Randhi wants to become a pilot. I had a conversation with him after the graduation ceremony, and he reaffirmed how convinced he is about pursuing his dream. At the same time, he is nervous about the new stage of high school that he is about to enter. He won't be with his classmates or teachers anymore; he will have to make new friends and get used to different environments. But the seed planted at Jenaro is there, ready to keep growing. Randhi will carry with him the knowledge he acquired and the values he learned. He knows that he has to strive and work for his future.

Just like Randhi, today I saw so many dreams gathered in one place—the dreams of the children and the dreams of their parents. We stood before them, wishing them success and inviting them to continue growing and learning, trusting in the tools they have been given throughout these 9 years.

Today, 38 classmates bid farewell to each other—with a touch of nostalgia but also with enthusiasm. They came in with their white shirts and left with the blue shirt representing their new stage of high school. Their parents, moved by their achievement, accompanied their children with great pride.

In the future, we will have new pilots, baseball players, veterinarians, entrepreneurs, lawyers, designers, pediatricians, marine biologists, mechanics, air conditioning technicians, photographers, chefs, to name a few... all trained at Jenaro Aguirre in the Slum 24 de Marzo of Petare.

That's what we do at Jenaro, we educate children with the support of parents, the family, covering everything from academics to human values.
