90 Days of Emergency Relief: Impact Report

By Luisa Paez | Project Leader

Following the devastating M7.2 and M7.5 earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026, the International Freedom Council (IFC) launched an immediate, life-saving response in the hardest-hit areas. Thanks to the rapid and generous support of our global community, we have been able to deliver critical aid to those who need it most.

To respond rapidly to the humanitarian crisis in La Guaira, IFC formed a vital alliance with the Franciscan Missionaries (Minor Conventuals)—a dedicated group of young priests who traveled from western Venezuela (Táchira and Mérida) directly to "Ground Zero" in Caraballeda.

With the backing of our supporters, IFC served as the primary supply lifeline for these missionaries, ensuring their stoves never went out during the critical emergency and recovery months of July, August, and September. Over the course of these 90 days, this partnership achieved the following milestones:

  • 9,000 Meals Served: We provided the necessary food supplies to prepare 100 breakfasts and 100 lunches daily. These warm meals sustained families waiting on the streets during rescue operations, as well as the brave first responders and authorities working tirelessly in the rubble.
  • 200 Hygiene Kits Distributed: Essential hygiene kits were delivered to displaced individuals in temporary shelters to help maintain sanitary conditions and prevent the spread of illness.
  • Essential Relief Supplies Delivered: The initiative successfully distributed infant formula, everyday food rations, clothing, and other immediate-need products to families who lost their homes and belongings.

Sustaining the Long-Term Recovery Effort

The aid provided is already sustaining the heroes who are helping on the frontlines in La Guaira. However, the scale of destruction—including the collapse of municipal aqueducts and the loss of thousands of homes in Caracas and surrounding areas—means that the recovery will be a massive, long-term effort. The humanitarian needs on the ground remain immense.

To sustain our upcoming supply deliveries to the Franciscan Missionaries and continue providing life-saving relief (such as clean water, infant care kits, and emergency bedding) to displaced families, ongoing support is essential.

Every contribution and every share helps affected families recover over the coming months.

Every donation counts. Every family counts. Thank you to everyone standing with us and making a direct impact during this unprecedented crisis.
