This quarter, our work to save the health of premature babies in Albania has focused on the people and resources that make a difference in the NICU:
Supporting mothers as they care for their babies in intensive care
Supporting the staff who care for these tiniest patients
Providing critical light-therapy equipment
Protecting newborns receiving phototherapy with essential eye-protection masks
And this quarter, Lorenc, a young Albanian runner, dedicated his marathon to these babies.
Because of his commitment — and the generosity of people who joined him — the funds raised will provide 250 protective masks for newborns receiving phototherapy, helping protect their precious eyes while this lifesaving treatment treats jaundice.
A marathon lasts a few hours.
