The project partnered by Hands Around the World in Mnukwa village near Chipata in the Eastern Province of Zambia is progressing well.
The resident carpenter Wilson has now been working for 12 months putting secure cupboards and preparing the 3 classrooms for the community.
We are now planning the purchase of the first orders of raw materials so that both the carpentry and sewing areas are fully used and productive. £1500 has been set aside for this and will be paid over the next 6 months.
Meanwhile the Chief has started the production of bricks for the extension to the clinic. A new ward for maternity patients is planned and discussions are ongoing to secure an extra nurse to work in the extended building. We are still raising funds for this build with £6000 in the bank, but a similar amount still needed.
Thank you very much for your support in the past - please help us to continue to make a difference in the lives of those, especially the children and young people, in this rural community.
