Volmoed Staff Report for April 2024

VOLMOED STAFF REPORT
APRIL  2024

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS!
Our Volmoed staff really are most amazing. They persevere under very difficult circumstances and they work hard. They are very welcoming to all our visitors, who often comment on how welcoming the staff are.

One of our favourite moments each week is on Wednesday mornings, when we gather with staff and residents to focus on Volmoed, and take time to share stories and to support one another.

Covid-19 really impacted Volmoed and all involved in the hospitality sector. We moved out of the worst of it, and are slowly getting more groups and visitors. However it is still challenging to pay the staff the living wage they deserve.  Their wages and salaries are no longer at 60%,  they are being paid at 100%.  But the reality is that family crises happen, they do not have health care policies, and Volmoed wants to be supportive. We are hoping that this project will continue to raise money for our staff, but no longer to make up the wages and salaries to 100%, as we are no longer in the Covid-19 crisis situation.  Rather we want to use the money raised for a staff contingency fund that can be available to help them in times of crisis and need for healthcare. This may mean that we deactivate this particular project and create a new one.  Please watch this space as we will update you on how this will work.

As always thank you so much for your donations.  We cannot do what we do without you.

YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED!
