By Dr. Laila Risgallah Wahba | Founder, Not Guilty
Our donors' generosity continues to bring light into some of the darkest circumstances. Not Guilty aims to flood the Middle East with anti-sexual abuse materials and to provide support for displaced refugees by fostering strength and healing for families across the world. Through workshops, survivors have found a space to share their stories, rebuild trust, and begin charting new paths toward hope. With support, we are moving closer to healing and hope, and we’re delighted to share the impact with you.
Some of the greatest challenges survivors face are various forms of trauma that can occur through displacement in war torn areas and the longstanding concern of sexual abuse — a crisis that too often goes unaddressed due to the culture of silence and shame that surrounds it in the Middle East. Without structured, focused support, survivors remain isolated and vulnerable.
Our organization continues to stay committed to changing this reality. By addressing these significant barriers, we are equipping refugees with the tools and safe spaces they need to heal, while also breaking through barriers of stigma.
Training sessions and awarenessprograms are helping to confront the silence head-on, fostering conversations that empower communities to protect the vulnerable and support survivors. Our efforts focus on breaking down these barriers through tailored programs and meaningful partnerships.
