By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your donation to our project providing water to a waterless village in Mindanao. The heat wave caused by the El Nino phenomenon is gripping the villages and water is becoming scarce. Our solution to design and implement simple, low cost water systems by gravity and via ram-pumping is getting good results with farmers able to raise their vegetables even with the dry weather. We trained them how to implement small-scale gardening and using water most judiciously. We were able to train and facilitate the implementation of vegetable gardening to 35 farmers, thanks so much for your kind help. We plan to increase our assistance in the coming months. We will include in our support the provision of water containers as rains is expected to occur in the middle of this year or in June. Again thank you very much.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora Sayre
