Environmental education, breaking paradigms

Generating clean water involves working several aspects around this vital liquid. It involves educating the population and creating greater environmental awareness that reduces pollution.

A few days ago, a campaign was launched under the slogan "Without garbage, we will have a better quality of life", where children from 9 schools of the sector participated, who received training on the three "R's" (Reduce, Recycle, Reuse).

Each child created his own message, which was located in different points of his community, in order to create greater environmental awareness in the population.

After the launch of the campaign, we have listened to the following testimonies:

Our children have given an important message to adults. They have taught us through their campaign, that a clean community is more beautiful and splendid. And that water sources reduce their pollution.

After the launch of the campaign, we have been able to observe better control and recycling of garbage. And we have come together to beautify our community. And, above all, avoid pollution. This type of educational campaigns only shows that with little you can do much.

After listening to these testimonies, and looking at the changes, we believe that education is one of the most important pillars that bring sustainable changes. Therefore, we will continue to bet on including pedagogy as a transversal axis in our programs.

The Water Management Board works as a team to offer a quality service to its beneficiaries. They are responsible for ensuring that people in their community receive clean water, and that the water distribution pipe system works correctly. In addition, it works in the protection of the environment.

The leadership of this water management board has been strengthened through a pedagogical process, which promotes gender equity, teamwork, water and basic sanitation, the environment, and others.

Something fantastic and curious in this program, is that the maintenance of the water system has the participation and involvement of women, who are also part of the management board, achieving more inclusion of women in community projects, something that previously was only a dream for them.

Before they invited us to be part of a board of directors, but they never gave us responsibilities, we were practically a figure within the administrative structure, without giving us value and importance. Today we have shown that women can also, and that we deserve equal treatment. We will be the voice and the face of those women invisible for machismo, until we reverse that situation.
